GA Registration & Try Out Info
Onsite Registration Dates & Times
The Online Registration will start July 31st, 2010. If you would like to register at the park, our in house registration is set for Saturday August 14th, 10:00 am - 2:00 pm and Sunday Aug. 15th, 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm. If you registered online and opted to pay by check or cash, please stop by anytime during in house registration to drop off your payment. If you register online, you can pay with credit card or you can mail a check to Smyrna Little League, P.O Box 813128, Smyrna, GA 30081 Leagues and Divisions T-Ball - Ages 4 and 5 - Instructional league, teams are kept to a minimum of 7-8 players. All players bat every inning, and they all run bases whether they hit or not. A tee is used for batting. PeeWee - Ages 5 and 6 - Instructional league, all players bat every inning and a pitching machine is used and is set at 35mph. Focus is on fun, batting basics, fielding and throwing basics. Minor 2 - Ages 7 and 8 - Pitching machine is used (set at 40mph). Regular baseball positions are played, three out innings, play is stopped when a fielder throws the ball back to the pitchers circle. 6 innings are played with a time limit of 1hour and 45 minutes. Minor 1 - Ages 9-11 - Kid pitch, regular baseball rules with no leading off. Stealing is allowed once the ball crosses the plate. 6 innings are played with 1 hour and 45 minute time limit. Major - Ages 10-12 - same as Minor 1. Registration Requirements 3 proofs of residency and birth certificate of child. We accept checks made payable to: Smyrna Little League or S.L.L. FALL Baseball 2010 Registration Fees
Fundraiser ( Spring Season Only) The $50 fundraiser is for raffle tickets. You can sell the tickets for a chance to win one of many prizes. Or keep the tickets for yourself and see if Lady Luck is on your side. The drawings will be held on Closing Day at Brinkley Park. You do not need to be present to win. Each ticket must have the name of the person you sold it to and their phone number PRINTED CLEARLY on the ticket. If you choose to keep the tickets for yourself, your name and phone number must PRINTED CLEARLY on EACH ticket. Please, drop your raffle tickets off at a SLL Concession Stand anytime druing a regular season ballgame. We ask that you please drop them off prior to Closing Day. Concession Fee This money goes towards the operating cost of SLL's Concession Stands. If you would like earn back your $30 Concession Fee, you can do that by working 2 games at a SLL Concession Stand. To sign up to work in a SLL Concession Stand, please go to either concession stand at Brinkley Field or the concession stand at Chuck Camp during a regular season SLL game. A SLL TIP - Try the Bartlett Burger at Brinkley Field they are YUMMY!
Equipment Needs A baseball glove. If your player has thier own bat, they are encouraged to birng it. SLL does provide bats and batting helmets for players use during practices and ballgames. Cleats are optional for tee ball and pee wee players. SLL requires rubber cleats for ages 7 and up. Metal spike cleats are not allowed. The league provides a uniform hat and shirt for each season. The player is responsible for; pants, socks, and belt. Your Coach or Team Mom will advise you on which color your team will be wearing for the season. Try Outs Tryouts for Spring 2010 ages 7 - 12 are set for Sunday August 22nd. Please see schedule below to determine what time your player is scheduled to try out.
Make ups are Monday August 23rd, at 6:00 pm.
Tee Ball Players ages 4-5 & Pee Wee Players ages 5-6 do not try out. They will placed on a team. Don't let the word "Tryout" scare you, this is designed only to even out the talent, everyone is on a team. What to Expect in a Try Out: Players will field ground balls at the short stop position and throw to 1st base. They will field fly balls in center field and throw to 3rd. They will be asked to bat and run the bases. What to bring for tryouts: You will need to bring your baseball glove. You may bring your own bat. SLL will have plenty of bats and batting helmets. Remember to wear your cleats. ![]()
